The “Chinese Language Learning Progression Framework for Non-Chinese Speaking Children in Kindergartens in Hong Kong” intends to describe the progress of learning Chinese for non-Chinese speaking children in kindergartens. The framework provides indicators of language awareness, language skills and affective attitude in listening, speaking, reading and writing. As a reference framework for teachers and different stakeholders, it could be utilised to understand children’s learning progress and proficiency in Chinese.
